Description
Vitamin D3
2500IU
Vitamin D3 deficiency is more common than one would think. Food sources—liver, fatty fish and fortified liquid milk products—are no longer consumed in the quantities they once were. Also the ability to synthesize vitamin D3 in our skin from UVB rays is reduced by sunscreen products, air pollution, medications, darker skin pigmentation, older age and a poor state of health. Population studies have suggested that societies with low blood levels of vitamin D3 have a higher incidence of multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis, breast and colorectal cancers. In addition, vitamin D3 deficiency leads to softening of the bones (rickets) in children and osteomalacia in adults.
